Rattlesnake bites are a painful and potentially lethal emergency situation. Our clinic offers a vaccine to dogs that helps defend your pet against the toxins found in rattlesnake venom. This vaccine can lessen your dog’s reaction to a rattlesnake bite and give you more time to seek life-saving veterinary care.
Two doses are recommended, spaced one month apart, for initial vaccination in dogs 6 months of age or older. After this initial vaccination period an annual booster is given in the spring, around one month prior to potential rattlesnake exposure.
